Cancun in October

Any recommendations about the weather in Cancun in October? I know it's weather, and as such is unpredictable, but if there's such thing as a "rainy season" or something, I'd like to avoid it...

The high season for hurricanes is Septemer and October for that area. Not to say there will be one, but statically it is very probable. We missed hurricanes by the skin of our teeth in Sept 2001, Sept 2007 and Nov 2005. We decided not to book that location anymore during that time period.

I fretted over this same issue, we are planning a trip at the end of Sept. to Playa Del Carmen, I guess since we can't control the weather the least we can do is get a great trip insurance plan so if a hurricane does happen we won't be out all of our money.

Since trip insurance will only run us about an extra $200 for myself and my husband, the peace of mind it will bring will be priceless.....
