Buses in Argentina

Hello! My friend and I are trying to finalize our plans for our trip to Argentina this July. We have a few long bus rides in our itinerary, (Cordoba to Mendoza, Mendoza to Salta, Salta to Iguazu)and we'll be there for a month. Does anyone know if there's a way that we can look at the bus schedules for July/August now? We're not sure if the buses for these long trips run every day - so this can obviously have an impact on our plans. Any information will be extremely helpful! Thanks!

Thanks so much! Do you know if there is a way to purchase bus tickets in advance, or is it easier to purchase from each city?

Advertising is not allowed, according to this forum's rules. Buyer beware. Enough said.

bmarie85: Rooster is just mentioning the rules, but I see Nico could not give any answer either.
Erinkelly, there is a bus from Mendoza to SAlta at night arriving to SAlta at 01:00 p.m. (Andesmar)www.andesmar.com.ar very confortable and from Salta to Iguazu via Corrientes you can take a bus (VELOZ DEL NORTE) everyday at 5 p.m.

Warm regards

thank you flinstones. i am traveling with erinkelly and we did not interpret the nicosalta response as advertising any more than we thought avrooster was advertising when recommending your services on various posts.

NicoSalta is obviously in the travel business and posted his e-mail to obtain business for himself, which is against any travel forum's rules.

I am NOT in the travel business and I recommended a third party's (Angie's) services, because she is a well known Salta guide, whose services I have used, to my full satisfaction.

The way I see it, there is a BIG difference.

I took that bus from Salta to Corrientes some years ago (it left at 5.00pm then too).

I bought my ticket the day before at the ticket office in Salta.

If it's of interest you can connect with a bus to Posadas quite easily.

I guess if you were in a mega hurry it might be possible to get to Iguazu same day. But I stopped in Posadas and really liked it (I reckon I was the only tourist in town); went on next day to San Juan Mini and stopped there for a night. And then on to Iguazu.

Happy travels.

A couple quick questions about the Andesmar web site-

Looking at Mendoza to Salta (ida), I often see two prices [CA $170/SC $142]. What is CA versus SC? Different classes? Also, are those prices in Pesos or US$? I'm hoping it's Pesos!

I would guess CA means CAMA and SC means SEMI-CAMA (less comfortable).

The prices MUST be in pesos.

Have a great time in our country.

You can always check the web site of the bus station for long distance trips to/from Buenos Aires.
