Buenos Aires Tourism Site?

Is there an official Buenos Aires Tourism site on the web? I've googled it and found many sites, but can't seem to find an 'official' one.
I'm wondering if they send out a tourist package including maps or is that a thing of the past now that everything is on the internet?
I'd like to have a map to study and to be able to see on a map the different areas that everyone is writing about.
Any ideas where I can get one? Perhaps I'll try my local book store.

AV , funny you should mention the time. I just finished searching a site to find out the time difference. It's just after 10 pm here in Toronto, so I won't have to worry about jet lag when I visit.

Ah, at 8 am sharp , I'll be getting ready to go to work!!! I have to pay for my trips!!
But never fear, Argentina will be on my mind!!

Hi Kodi,

The tourism site AV directed you to is really good. I have found lots of great information and info on events. Have a look at the self guided walking tours.
(make sure you look at the English version. Fodors has a problem with getting URLS right and the way it is , since the end is not underlined, if you click on it it will take you to the Spanish. But if you click on the small British Flag - top right - presto!!)

The map that is part of the site is a great tool.
http://mapa.buenosaires.gov.ar/sig/index.phtml
it is interactive and you can find specific street addresses, zero in on a barrio that interests you, or by clicking on "Recorrido a Pie" on the left hand side, and putting in 2 locations - it will map out the best way to walk from A to B and how far it is.

I found that the Buenos Aires Lonely Planet Guide had good section on maps. They had individual maps of the various areas that are of most interest to tourists. it does not really however include some of the more off the tourist track barrios. Check it out at a bookstore and see if it suits your needs.

Good luck.
Raquel

Raquel, thanks very much.
I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
I'll go to Chapters this week and see what I can find. Since I'm more of a budget traveller, I probably will buy the Lonely Planet book.
I have an older version of it from the library. I'll have a look at the maps.

And I'll spend time looking at the site AV recommended. I like the idea of walking tours.
