Buenos Aires Apartment - Location Advice
Hi all,
I've found an apartment I'd like to rent in BA. I was wondering if anyone can give me a general idea of the location. I believe it's in Palermo Soho, but from what I've read Palermo is a HUGE neighborhood.I just wanted to verify and make sure it's in a decent neighborhood, close to transportations and some of area sites, and I hoping I could get some help from my fellow Fodorites.

Thanks.

Palermo Soho is a nice quiet area and cabs or public transport is cheap to get wherever you want to be. We have walked there from the Recoleta area many times. There are also loads of great restaurants in the Soho area.

I can't speak to the exact location, but I have stayed a couple of times in Palermo Soho and I would not describe it as "quiet." There is a lot going on--shopping, restaurants, bars --- and some streets are rather busy with traffic. It's a great area to stay.

This apartment is a bit of a walk/distance from the rest of Palermo/Palermo Soho, Viejo.. if I read the map right.
See the railroad track at the right of the map.. you would probably rather be on the other side of those tracks.
You are very close to being in Belgrano..

Yes, I think it might be too far out for a visit.
Try to concentrate more on Palermo Viejo or Soho, rather than Hollywood which is a big mix of an area..
Puerto Madero is not at all what you want if you are looking in the Palermo areas..
mochilerainbsas, has anyone ever said anything to you about your advertising on the forums?

That apartment is in Palermo Hollywood. I just had an apartment in Palermo Hollywwod in December and it was on Nicaragua between Juan B. Justo and Humbolt. I can tell that this is Palermo Hollywood because the street Voltaire is in Palermo Hollywood.
Palermo Soho is on the other side of the railroad track as the railroad track divides the two. I was a block away from the railroad track. You'll be quite a distance away depending on how far down the street the apartment building is on. I liked Palermo Hollywood a lot. There's just not as much going on as in Palermo Soho. It's an up and coming area. But taxis are very cheap in Buenos Aires. I took a lot of them. Happy Travels!
