bottled water

Is the tap water safe to drink at the hotels in San Ignacio and Ambergris Caye?

Certainly use bottled water on Ambergris. If they are serving tap water in SI, assume its fine.

I only drink bottled water anywhere I travel. It is an inexpensive and easy precaution to take.

I usually drink bottled water on Ambergris, but I brush my teeth and use tap water to swallow pills. The water in town is supposed to be safe, I know I've never gotten sick.

Further north or south, water may be from cisterns, certainly wouldn't drink there.
