Best place for ridings in Argentina???

Hey there, forum members. Me and my wife are brand new on this matter, going to Argentina on early March. We are both crazy about horses, we are quarter breeders. Which is the best place to ride in Argentina, we are looking for a hard but comfortable ride.
Plase help us!!!!!!!

I would venture to say that Estancia los dos Hermanos is ideal for people who love to ride horses. They make a point in matching riders with the right horse. I know because the asked me a lot of pertinent questions before they assigned me a horse.
Also the owners are there and indeed it makes a big difference , they also love horses. Good luck.

Los Dos Hermanos and Santa Susana are VERY different things.

I suggest you check out:

And then this forum comment:

I believe you will soon realize, Ed&Jen, that Santa Susana is not at all what you want.

In fact, considering your "we are both crazy about horses, we are quarter breeders", I'm not quite sure Los Dos Hermanos, even though it is great, will be up to your riding standards.

Maybe you should consider a polo ranch, of which there are many.

Have a great time in our country.

On second thought, Ed&Jen, why don't you ask Ana Peña, the owner of Estancia Los Dos Hermanos, whether or not she can set up the kind of riding experience you want?

Many thanks to the three of you. We find out that perhaps we do not explain precisely what info we need. Although all your posts were helpful, the avrooster one in particular, we are looking for the best place 4 riding's in Argentina and not only in B.A. Or you 3 think that B.A is the better Argentinean place to ride???
What we find out is that in B.A area there are no much hills, no much rivers or lakes, shortly there is not much besides than cows, corn and soy fields, isn't that right????
What can you tell us about the other areas for riding's? Patagonia, North Argentina, the centre region???
We really don´t think that a touristy and massive riding in common horses would be the better choice for us..., something a little bit more charming???, Some place with great horses and natural beauty????
Waiting for your replies, thanks in advance!!!!

For early March, Ed&Jen, as you want a "place with great horses and natural beauty", I would be inclined to research ranches in Patagonia.

I know some people that have taken a horse back riding tour with this person in Bariloche:

They were very satisfied with the experience.

I also found this site through a google search, I know anything about them but it looks interesting:

If you type "cabalgatas" at google.com.ar you will find lots of other options.

also take a look at the northwest region.

We rode at Estancia Colome and their horses were incredible as was the scenery.

There would be numerous other riding options there as well.

Hi skatedancer!

I second Colome in the Salta area, it was one of the most amazing horseback rides I've ever been on. We rode through hills, across streams and galloped all the way back to the estancia in this 2 hour ride with Ernesto, the resident gaucho. The horses are peruvian, I hadn't been on a horse in quite a few years, it was like riding a bike on these horses, came right back to me.

From us to you: THANK YOU!!!! With your invaluable contribution we realized that:
1) Buenos Aires area it won´t be a good choice for our riding.
2) Patagonia, with Tom Wesley riding company maybe an excellent choice, but how is the weather for March in there?
3) The Northwestern area sound very very tempting, Colomé can be our choice, we already mailed them and waiting for a reply.
4) Besides Patagonia and Salta area, we are interested in analysing Cordoba as a choice if we decide to go north. We are thinking that may be a good first stop before get ourselves in city chaos...
5) Thanks a lot for your very kind help, we will be in touch once we have our itinerary complete...

Early March is still our summer, so, with any luck, Patagonia should be OK, in that respect.

However, please note that the weather is notoriously unpredictable in our South.

Here is another choice for Patagonia; Carol Jones is the grandaughter of a "Gringo" (respectfully) pioneer in Patagonia.

Forum member siberia_ba has been rather quiet recently. He should know what he is talking about. Are you recommending this lady, siberia_ba?

Haven't met her personally AV, but I heard of Carol Jones through either this or "the other" forum. "Los Yones" are quite well known in the Bariloche area.
Regarding my silence, you are totally correct (as always). I owe you an e-mail, and I'll get back to you soon.

Ed!, just an advice, never Choose Colome for your last night, it is still far from the airport and complications could occur on the roads (as lides, flood, delays, and you loose your flight...) OK?

Nw are is a great choice. Skatedancer never regreted...
