BEST LAST MINUTE AIRFARE SITES?
I'm toying with the idea of a surprise spring break trip with my husband, traveling (likely because it's cheaper) Monday to Monday, the 23rd to 30th of March. I'd consider anything really cheap and warm, not necessarily beachy, and we'd likely scoot to outlying areas rather than stay in a resort, though the right deal might convince us to try it for the 1st time.
Can anyone advise about best websites for looking? I usually use kayak.com and plan a year +/- in advance. I'm looking for something where I can put in our home airport, PDX, and spin out clearance or sale options.
Thanks in advance for any tips! Happy trails!

Sweet!! I knew such a thing had to exist and kayak.com is my favorite airline search site so I can't believe I hadn't checked that before. Also, I'm a big fan of Paul English, the co-founder of kayak who puts incredible bucks behind global health inequity issues and is on the board of many important groups including Paul Farmer's Partners in Health. His good karma just won't end!
Thanks for sharing! (PS You have the same name as the ipod my son gave me.)

Tried those but the kayak buzz is just what I was looking for. I'm able to put in my departure city and choose a general description of where I might want to go from a drop down menu (Mexico/Central America, Caribbean, World Cities) and get a map and a list of great deals that others have found by searching recently. Other sites make you put in where you want to go and/or your travel dates and those are the pieces I was wanting to be able to leave up in the air.
