What are people's favorite cultural or soft adventure trips for a fairly energetic and somewhat culture-loving family with preteens to teens? We loved France, Italy, and the American West, and now are considering South America, but are open. Any memorable favorites? Thanks!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Marriott in Costa Rica last year, and we loved it! We discussed how we would like to go back there when we have a family, because there were many families there. There are a wide variety of tours available which appear to be safe and what I would consider "soft adventure." For instance, we went hiking and horseback riding in the rain forest. There are also canopy tours and canopy walkways, which allow you to experience the rain forest in an amazing and safe way.

Thanks, all! We having been thinking of Peru, and we are likely to go in summer. Does that affect the thoughts about CR or Belize?
