Does anyone have any information regarding how these two compare?

We stayed on the Akumal side last Feb. and we loved it. We did go over to the Tulum side a few times and it looked very nice too, but there was an awful odor around some of the rooms. The grounds are lovely, but the smell would've put me off. The Akumal side was beautiful, it did not smell at all and we loved everything about it.

any idea what that smell may have been?

I think it was sewage, but I am not 100% sure. The Akumal side had no smells at all and the entire resort was lovely.

anyone else notice this problem especially anyone that was down there in late November.
