BA..please help with name of shop
Last year in BA I purchased some leather items, including shoes from capybara leather, at a shop on Suipacha that had been recommended in the New York Times as a shoe, glove and small leather item specialist. I cannot find the name of the shop...I am thinking it started with a C or an S but I could be wrong. I realize that this is a long shot, but thought some kind Porteno might be able to help me. Muchisimas gracias!

When I saw this post, I thought: "this is a tough one".
But it was easy!!!! I'm your "kind porteño"!!!! Alt 164 for the "ñ"!!!
I looked it up in the New York Times!!!
"In a land long on handsome leather, carpincho, or capybara, is among the most valued because it remains supple after washing and is extremely durable. Carpincho specializes in gloves in a rainbow of colors ($100), as well as shoes, boots, handbags, shirts, jackets and vests. It also stocks wondrously warm kid gloves lined with nutria ($40 in black for men or $50 for women, in cheerful colors). Esmeralda 775, Retiro (4322-9919)."

Avro: How is that for service, indeed!! Amazing! Even more amazing is that I tried to search the times site, and came up with several articles but not the one that mentioned the shop. Thank you so very much. I got excellent loafers and wanted to see if they would send me another pair. Thanks a gain!! Now I have to figure out how to e-mail them!
Or better yet, return for a second visit!
