Hi Jose,
I'm going to Cuzco at the end of October. I have some recent reports that we need to get yellowfever and typhoid vaccinations for this area. Is this accurate? Does the Peruvian government check for vaccination records before entering these areas?

Hi Jose,
I'm going to Peru in June for 2-3 weeks. I'm very interested in the countryside, the peoples of the countryside and villages, Inka and pre-Inka ruins, hiking and outdoor sports. I will be bringing three other people.
What destinations and sights do you prefer and how would you suggest we divide our time? Thank you very much for your offer of assistance.
With best regards--Dave

Hi Jose,
I start planning a trip to Peru this June. I'm looking for tour package that includes: Cusco, Lake Titicaca,Amazon and more(if time premits). What can you suggest? What tour agency to use? I have 15 - 16 days to travel? Is it enough for this program? You can e-mail me directly. Thanks!

Hi Jose! I, too, am planning a trip to Peru in late Sept/early Oct. I'm planning on hiking the Inca Trail with 1 or 2 other friends. I've heard rainy season doesn't begin until November, but I would like to double check with you (i'm very scared of heights and don't want the added stress of a slippery trail!). Also, can you recommend a guide? I'll be in Peru for 2 weeks. Can you recommend other places to visit (easy to get to from Cusco or Lima). I'd also like to take you up on how to save on travel and hotel recommendations. Thanks so much! Stephanie

Hi AndeanMan,

I am going with friends on a hiking trip from Cusco to Machu Pichu. WE are interested in a post trip to Lake Titicaca. There will be 2 of us. We would like info on the best way to get from Cusco to Lake Titicaca. Where to stay - we like moderate to maderately upscale. We are also interested in outdoor activities. How long to stay to get a good flavor of the area, and etc.

Thanks for your help.

Marlene

Hi Jose, My husband and I have found ourselves with some time on our hands and were thinking of leaving within the next month to do Costa Rica and South America. My concern is one of the main things I want to see is Machu Picchu and it seems that we will be there right in the middle of the rainy season (sometime early December) is it going to be worth going then?

Also we are interested in the value of going to Quito and the Galapagos Islands. We like to see interesting places but hate the "touristy" ones.

Another thing that I would like to know is about going from Cuzco to Lake Titicaca....is there a train? Is it safe? and where should we go from Lake Titicaca? to Bolivia or to Chile? Thanks for your assistance!

I will be in Cusco for about 8 days in mid March. I will be traveling with my 15 year old son. We were planning on taking a 4 day trek on the Inca Trail. Is this are good idea ? Also, what else should we see/do while we are there. Thanks. Rob.

Hi, Jose:
My husband and I are going to Peru on July 1st. However, we are only staying for 6 days, based in Lima and planning an overnight trip to Cusco & Machu Pichu.
Are there any other sites that we should not miss, even on this short trip? I would appreciate your quick reply!

Hi Jose,
I will be traveling to Peru in late August/early September with two friends. We're planning on arriving in Lima, traveling to Cusco for a few days, then hiking the Inca Trail to Macchu Picchu. We'd like to see the Nasca Lines, but don't know how to get from Cusco to Nasca. Do you have any suggestions? Also, we then want to head south to Lake Titicaca. What is the best way to get there from the Cusco area? Is it best to fly to La Paz and then go to the Lake?

We'd also like hotel and restaurant recommendations in Lima and Cusco if you have them. Thanks so much!
Debbie

To: anyone with experience in the culture.

I am interested in religious holidays celebrated in Peru.

Have you noticed syncretism between Catholocism and indigenous religions? Are there many Incan religious rituals performed? I remember reading something about the Day of the Sun where a bunch of people make a pilgrimage or something, but I need some clarification.

Thanks,
matthew

Also, any recommendations for a cheap, clean place to stay in town for saturday and sunday nights? I look forward to hearing from you,

Sarah

Jose has never posted a response to any of the post here. I don't know if he's answering questions on his posted email or not. ([email protected])
Has anyone tried?

I have traveled to Peru for the 2 years, more specifically to the Iquitos area. It's a great place and as mentioned above International Expeditions is a great tour company. The packages that they offer seem expensive when looked at as a whole but overall are very well worth it. If anyone has some questions I would be willing to offer as much knowledge as I have.

Jose,

What's the weather like in Peru in October? We're planning a trip to Lima, Cuzco, Macchu Picchu and Iquitos for the Amazon. Will Macchu Picchu be rainy or cloudy; or can we expect clear weather? Will this be the rainy season for the Amazon? Any information is appreciated. We could also consider mid to late September. Thanks in advance.
