Another Weather Question Re Costa Rica - Montezuma
Ok I laugh when people as me what the snow will be like months ahead but forgive me. We are traveling to Montezuma the first week of June. Reading the reports some saw expect tons of rain, other say it typically rains for short periods later in the day. So who is right?

Who knows? is right. There is NO way to tell. We were in Montezuma for 3 days in early July a few years back and it NEVER rained. It was hotter than heck, and a shower or two would have made a very nice difference. You just cannot tell. If you look at weather.com or similar forecast sites, it will always indicate high probability of rain. That isn't always the case.
Some people have said the "little summer" is in June, others say two weeks in July. Maybe it moves around. Back to the original question: Who Knows?!

As was mentioned, this is a la nina year and the weather is really unpredictable. After what I saw the 5 weeks I was in CR recently, it could do just about anything (except snow although there was a cold front that came through some areas of the country from a storm in the Gulf of Mexico). We had rain, sometimes very hard, just about every afternoon in the southern area in the mountains where we spent most of our time. Further down the mountains it was very hot and humid. On the bright side, I saw some of the most beautiful rainbows I have ever seen and I have seen a lot in Costa Rica. Friends of ours are frequent travelers to Uvita and Ojochal and they said it was the hottest they have ever felt it. They joined us for a few days in the mountains where you start the climb up to Chirripo.
Generally you will have some time in the morning and early afternoon to enjoy the sights.
