WE do enjoy the AI Playacar palace. it's small boutique like hotel and right down the beach from the 5th ave shops of Playa Del Carmen. It does not have the big AI touristy feel to it at all. The beach is gorgeous there. you are right next to the ferry to Cozumel, for more exploring. this resort is just convenient to all and quiet and relaxing, and away form all the Cancun tourists. The Facebook group Forum for Palace Resorts Members & Friends has people at all the Palace Resorts and tons of photos and info to help see what suits you.
