avrooster I am sure you are better informed than me.
What I meant was that presently many of the best educated
Argentineans - men and women-seem to enjoy including more and more cursing in their daily conversations.
Most like they use the grammar better than the less uneducated people.
I feel that the so called educated class uses a lot of English words here and there, and at the same time they use a lot of vulgar insults and vulgar, rough words referring to anatomic parts , to me they seem to have a "gusto" in using them.
Is this a sign more of our times than a local sign?
i do no know the answer.

The word you refer to, Graziella, is used by ALL young people (and some not so young) when talking among themselves. It's sort of like they greet each other by saying: Hi, how are you doing PAL? However, they use this special word, instead of PAL.
Anyway, they often use it wrong, because young women also use it to call each other, even though they obviously do not posess the "anatomic parts" you mention.
I often kid them, saying: Hey, guys, this is VERY strange, do you all have the same first name? They look at me, wondering if the German guy (Alzheimer) finally caught me. LOL!!!
Hopefully, this manner of speech will go out of fashion, sooner or later.

First, I have no news on this subject. I called my travel agent and looked at the government's "Migraciones" website, nothing.
This is my hunch and it's only that, a hunch.
The Kirchners had this GREAT idea (LOL) and announced it. When they got a negative reaction, they decided to drop it.
However, as they really HATE to admit they made a mistake, they decided to just sort of let it die, by not actually implementing it.
If my hunch is wrong, we'll soon know, as January 1, when this "thing" was supposed to come into effect, is right around the corner.
"Reciprocity fee" or no "reciprocity fee", you'll have a great time in our country!
Happy holidays to everyone.

My good friend Punta Lugano, an extremely knowledgeable "destination expert" on TA, posted there that he read in "a forum for ex-pats in BA" that the official word from the U.S. Embassy in Argentina is that "the new VISA fee will not be going into effect on January 2, 2009 as planned but is being postponed at least until March 2009. The cost, duration and other important details remain unknown."
Nothing "official" from our government, yet. All this suggests that my "hunch", posted this morning, could be correct.
