gemut for airline tickets?

I have read many posts about how great gemut is for car rentals - what about airfares? We have found much better rates from Gemut traveling to Italy in June on Lufthansa than on the LH site, or Orbitz; Kayak, etc. Are they known for good prices and service for airfare as well as car rental?

Hi PS,

I haven't heard any complaints about Gemut at all.

Gemut specializes in travel in and around Germany. They are located in the U.S. in Oregon. They have a toll free number, so you could call if you have any questions.

This is a family-owned company that started as a newsletter on Germany, Austria & Switzerland (still published, BTW; you can subscribe for the monthly print, snail-mail edition ($59 per year) at www.gemut.com; or their free Europe Travel Alert). I have been using them for years for car rentals, rail passes, and air tickets to Europe-and also subscribe to the excellent print newsletter. I have found them to scrupulously honest (they tell me when Orbitz or Travelocity has a lower price) and totally reliable. Apparently they do enough biz with suppliers like LH and Auto Europe that they get rates sometimes not available to the general public. They are a small outfit and you might have to leave a message and wait for a call back (usually within an hour or so) but it's well worth the wait. You're talking to real people—very knowledgeable, too. Ever try to get Priceline or Orbitz on the phone?
