Zurich-Geneva transfer

I am flying Swiss Lax to Zurich one hour layover connecting to Geneva. I am hoping we will have time to quickly mail something at the post office, (I checked it will be open) the post office is in the shopping area do we pass through this between flights?

I am hoping to mail a package. RR

No, you do not pass through the shopping area when connecting. I doubt you will have time to do this.

Where is the shopping area after passport control and security of before security?. In other words can we get to our departing gate and then if we have time rush down there
and back without re doing security etc.

You will land at the E gates. You will then have to take a train to the main terminal area, where you will clear passport control. You will then need to re-clear security to get to your onward flight, which will probably leave from a bus gate. The post office in the shopping area is probably at least 15 minutes from the gate area, so 30 minutes roundtrip.

Even if you ran, I see no way that you could make it to the post office and still make your next flight. No way.

It is complicated but here goes. we will only be passing through Zurich, then on to Geneva arriving at 6pm after all the post offices are closed and leaving the next day sunday to travel by train to Le chable. We will then be hiking for 10 straight days.

we can mail from Le Chable before our hike on Monday, the Post office opens Monday at 8am.

I do not want to carry my extra stuff across the alps for 10 days!
