Zurich Airport connection help!
Husband and I are arriving in Zurich airport on United AL from the U.S. and
are considering a connection time of 1hr10min to a Swiss Global Airlines flight
to Milan. We have been told that 1hr 10 min. is adequate to make our connection
as Zurich is a "very efficient" airport. Does anyone have experience connecting in
this airport? I think this is not enough time but am told it is! Please advise.

We have connected there several times in the last 18 months and yes, it is a very efficient airport. Our last flight inbound from North America had a 50 minute connection to a Swiss flight to Kraków. We walked quickly and made it with 10 minutes to spare. That included the time it took to ride the train between terminal wings and to clear passport control.
I would be comfortable with the 70 minute connection you have, unless, of course, your United flight is late.

Are you going to have to go through any sort of Customs/Immigration procedure? I would assume you would be transiting at ZRH and do that in Milan. Will you be using carry-on luggage only or checking bags? I assume United has a luggage agreement with the ongoing carrier if you are checking bags.
We have found the airport to be efficient although we have experienced a couple of "long walks" there also.
