Good for you! Take advantage of the SPA at the sister resort (Julen). That was the sister resort of my now defunct hotel Orion) where I had stayed in the late 90's.

Oh, John, you brought back memories of my first stay in Zermatt at the Orion in 1998! Have stayed at the Hotel Daniela twice since then (same room with balcony & view of the Matterhorn). The Daniella is much nicer than the Orion.

ozgirl: At the train station, call on the courtesy phone to the Daniela/Julen and their electric cart will pick you up and take you to the hotel. You will love seeing the Matterhorn. I grew up near Disneyland and saw that Matterhorn more times than I can count. Seeing the actual Matterhorn was a lifelong dream. I have seen it on four trips and am planning our next one.

elaine: I would suggest the Hotel Julen over the Hotel Daniela if you like upscale hotels. Hotel Julen is considered one of the Romantik hotels. Two excursions that we love to do in Zermatt is take the cable car up to Klein Matterhorn (at the top you can look over into Italy) and the train to Gornergrat. Absolutely gorious scenery...and views of the Materhorn and surrounding mountains.
