I'm going to Europe in the next april and I intend go to Zermat. How can I arrived there ? I'll have a europass. After Zermat I go to Paris and I'd like to stop in some city . What do you suggest ??

I travelled by Europass last summer, and also went to Zermatt. To get there, you take a train to Brig or Visp, Switzerland (these are two towns in the valley beneath Zermatt). We took a train to Brig. From there you change and take a private train up the mountains to Zermatt -- we were told that the only way to get to Zermatt via train is on a private train, it's a private track that goes up there. Which means your Europass will only cover going to Brig or Visp -- you must buy the private train ticket at the station to go up to Zermatt. If you have any other questions, feel free to email me.

While travelling around Switzerland, we found out that some of the tickets eg up the mountain by private train could be bought from the Conductor when they come around to check your rail ticket n you can also ask them which platform to take instead of looking at the board. We did not plan to stay in Brig n since we know it'll be dark, when we get up there, we just as the conductor. Next we had a stop in Interlaken - think only 3 hours then onward to Lucerne b4 going to Paris.

By using a Eurail pass (diff. than a Europass, I guess), the train ride to/from Zermatt is free - as well as the trip to the nearby Grindewald outlook.

Stop in Lyons. It is a beautiful city in southeast France with great restaurants and lovely strolling. Definitely worth the effort.

I was just looking on the web trying to find any information about individuals who were in France and found a regions absolutely irresistable. So you liked Lyons! Do you have any other suggestions? I have read numerous guides, but I believe individual input is the most informative. Thanks!
