Your Untourist Guide to Amsterdam

Want a different kind of tourism in Amsterdam? Here's Untourism: a site and guide to tourist experiences that will actually contribute to the City

https://www.untouristguide.com/

Concept by Elena Simons (famous for her happiness projects)

For instance, you can get married for one day. Or do a different canal cruise, on the Lampedusa, a refugee boat.
Very happy to see the project that I've helped get off the ground has offered an experience as well: gardening in the wonderful "Garden of the West" area between Amsterdam and Haarlem.

Enjoy!

You might add in seaweed burgers. https://dutchweedburger.com/en/about...-farm-zeewaar/

The Netherlands is Europe's farming powerhouse. Developing stuff so far ahead of the USA it is truly impressive. I mention this only because the American Ambassador to the court of St James keeps lecturing us on how wonderful American food is. LOL

The idea is great, but I don't like the ideological spin. What does Amsterdam has to do with the refugee crises on the Mediterranean?

"Or do a different canal cruise, on the Lampedusa, a refugee boat."

Destination Italy?

Is there some re-enactment involved? Like throwing Christians overboard? Perhaps only the Catholics as that is fitting with Dutch history?

What if I don't want to get out of the boat when the tour ends, but I demand the crew to take me to Sweden, because I think that the Netherlands is not good enough for me?

Especially Fruittuinen van West, where the weeding project is. I can really recommend it. Also if you want to bike outside Amsterdam. It's such a great area.

All EU countries, NL included, contribute to the present crisis. NL has a special role in this, something that's also rooted in Dutch history.

Fijne avond verder.
