Hi Annette,
I travelled with 3 classmates to Nice from Florence a few times. To the best of my recollection, the trained was scheduled (the key word!) to leave Florence around 1:00. We were always at the train station in plenty of time. Most of the time, we arrived in Nice around 10pm. I didn't mind the length of the trip, because I enjoyed the company of my companions, and the scenery is utterly splendid! That gorgeous acquamarine water, those beautiful houses...not boring at all!

BC
