With an honorable mention to anywhere in Paris, the most romantic spot I have experienced is St. Remy de Provence.
As you drive in to or from this beautiful village, you drive through miles of plane trees planted exactly across from each other. On a summer day you can spot sunflowers, lavender growing wild or in cultivated fields on either side of the road. It is so easy to imagine Van Gogh wandering through and painting in this area which he did.
Though I have traveled this route many, many times it continues to inspire and awe me.

Another vote for Venice. So romantic and magical, it truly is like a fairy tale. One of my most favorite memories of my trip to Italy is my husband twirling me around as the orchestras were playing in Piazza San Marco after we were dropped off from our gondola ride.

" Little Dix Bay, Virgin Gorda."
The first romantic spot sounds like a place where Viagra could come in handy. Your second romantic spot will require a lot of foreplay.
To me romance is everywhere in Europe, whether it's watching the sunset on the Arno in Firenze, a gondola ride in Venice or making out on a bridge in Paris. I'm looking forward to the Mosel area and Switzerland in September. I'm sure my wife and I will find some new romantic spots.

"Heidelberg, Germany"
Wow. This is the most interesting answer to this question so far. I know some people on the board have bashed Heidelberg. I've been there on a few occasions and like it a lot. Unfortunately I wasn't with a woman on those occasions, so romance played no part for me. What makes Heidelberg so romantic to you? Inquiring minds want to know.

My most romantic spot is without doubt Heildeberg...This is where my hubby proposed... I was in vacation in Germany and he was stationed at Rhein Main, Frankfurt...We were so young then and so much in LOVE...
