Young adult nightlife in Munich (June)

Hello! I'm a college student who is going to be studying in Munich for the month of June. Can anyone suggest some must-do nightlife (clubs or bars) or any other place where young Deutsche tend to hang out? Danke!

j- many years ago, when I was your age I sort of "became of age" in the Schwabing area of Munich. I am sure much has changed since then, but I am sure you will find many pleasurable moments. Do enjoy you month in Munich, I certainly did! Bitte schon!

Wait until you get there and hang out with the crowd. That's what I did.

There should be complimentary magazines in Cafes and other places that tell you about events, new clubs and so on.
Or simply ask someone who looks `` your kind of person.
Have fun!

Club area for the young is focused on an old factory site 5 minutes walk from Ostbahnhof station called Kunstpark Ost(left hand side as coming out of centre). Germans are still fans of techno believe it or not, so lots of that. Clubs are very under 25 and most in my view are the pits, but I am too old for it now. There are well over 40 bars and clubs in a concentrated area and it is full Friday and Sat going right through the night.
Other place Munchener Freiheit station - leopoldstrasse in north Schwabing. This is not nearly as active as it was 15 years ago, but is still favoured by the lads who like to cruise down the street with radios blaring, pretending that they are going to pull that night, but really just showing off to each other. Big in the summer especially - have a coffee and icecream on the street - ugly street at that end and 4-6 lanes of traffic, but it is still a popular showing off pasttime amongst the locals, especially the schicki-micki. Monday night Tijuana Bar right near M Freiheit is very popular as happy hour all night - check out truly awful German service as they keep it totally understaffed to keep profits up.
Most upmarket discos which are more expensive and where you will see Bayern Munich footballers - P1 and Maximilians.

Simply GO THERE...if you're anything beyond the level of "social zero" and have any sort of conversation with your peers I guarantee that within 24 hours you'll know about every club, bar, hangout, etc., both the good and the bad, for folks your age...more than any guidebook or message board could possibly list.

Go to the Hofbrauhaus, you have no choice but to meet people there & anyone of any age will have a great time.

If you want to meet young Munich people, Hofbrauhaus is not the best place - full of tourists - Germans and foreigners, lots of Munich locals look totally down their nose at it and have not even been once (excessive reaction), though beer garden attached to it is quite highly regarded, so more locals during say June. Also get lots of middle aged beer gutted men getting drunk then going for the young female tourist. Do it once, but more if you are missing native English speaking company.
