Yorkshire Dales Accommodations?

Hi - I am beginning to plan our road trip through the UK. Am thinking of venturing west from York on the A684, then heading south on the M6. We would like to stop somewhere along this route at an inn or B & B, but I can't figure out which villages would be most likely to have lodging available. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, how long will it take (not counting stops along the way) to get from York to the M6 by this routing? Thanks.

I use www.multimap.com for planning driving trips in England.

For B&B's, look at www.smoothhound.co.uk. For recommendations, there's www.theaa.com, www.sawdays.com, and www.karenbrown.com. Not to neglect www.tripadvisor.com.
