Just a heads up for those of you who might read this before your trip.
DH & I re-watched the movie, In Bruges last night. We had seen it back in March 08 before our trip, and now it's out on DVD.
We both love the movie, albeit the violence. But we are simply amazed by how beautiful it is cinematically, and how the ENTIRE movie is shot on location. We recognized majority of the filming locations throughout the movie. Nothing was shot inside a movie studio. The only reproduced scene is the part at the top of the Belfry, otherwise everything is real.
I'm surprised so many "sacred" places allowed them to film there, including the Lower Chapel of the Basilica of the Holy Blood, and the Begijnhof. Perhaps they didn't realize the movie is so violent and every other word starts with F.
