I'd be worried not just for lack of reviews but
• no contact with owner
• if it's way cheaper than anything else. usually there's a reason.

I'd prefer reviews but you do narrow your search especially if you want reviews in English Far more important for me is the communication with the owners/agency - but there is a link on the site to email them with queries so I wonder why you think you can't? I would email them on that link and see how they respond before you decide either way. It looks alright from the photos.

@texastrips - I don't see an email link on the site - where did you find one?

At the bottom of this page - click on none of the above below the FAQ list and it opens an email box:

I don't rely on reviews very much. Everyone's standards are different. I do wish to communicate with the owner, though. We have rented from various owners through www.homeaway.co.uk and have always had good contacts with the owners to give us any information we wanted. Much more important to me than a review.

More than a review, the most important thing is to contact a good agency.
I went in Tuscany this summer, renting a villa with pool in Mugello. It has been a fantastic experience. The villa was beautiful, the landlord and his wife perfect. We rented through www.vacavilla.com, a specialist of Tuscany. I think they do also have a nice selection of properties in Amalfi Coast, and perhaps also in Sorrento. In case, ask for Suzy, our contact, a very nice and professional girl.

I'm sorry I have recently discovered the whole couchsurfing, room renting and apartment sharing bit and I have never stayed anywhere but in a hotel whenever I've travelled. My (very basic!) question is when one rents an apartment (like the link provided by the OP) does that mean that one shares the apartment with the owners or is that true only in case of room sharing. I have been looking on airbnb, wimdu and 9flats for my upcoming trip to Spain and I would like to rent an apartment for brief periods of 4-5 days but I would like the rented apartment all to myself for that period. Is it even possible to do that? I have never lived with new people and I wonder how it is going to be. Also I have a 1 year old baby which people may or may not be too happy about.
Thanks your help will be greatly appreciated.

avee: I would suggest that you start a new thread with your questions. More people will likely answer your question because it will be a fresh thread.

There are a number of experts on Spain who will answer you if you put "Spain" in your title.

Good luck!
