I'm sorry your experience of Siracusa was so disappointing - I thoroughly enjoyed my 2+ days there and had no difficulties whatsoever finding information about it. And for anyone who uses this thread to plan future trips, I'll also note that I found the town of Agrigento worthy of a few hours - it has a fascinating medieval district in which I thoroughly enjoyed getting lost. And I'm glad I spent the night in Taormina - it is one of those places that is far more magical at night, after day trippers have left.
