And presume he may have to again. The word "Moffies" is considered extremely insulting in some sections of South African society

Is it? It was banded around Southfields with gay abandon by the horrible sith effrikans that live there (and are partly why I moved).

I was called a Pom by a Boer, which surprised me, I thought that was a specifically Australian/Kiwi thing.

Just for fun, just found an Aussie taking a poke at the English on a Rugby forum.

"Gee, another gutless ANONYMOUS pommie fan talking smack. No wonder the British Military has the Ghurkas for when the going gets tough."

Reply:

"I’m just surprised you didn’t go the whole hog and start harping on about Gallipoli – “Wrong frickin beach mayte, wrong frickin beach”.

Oh and it appears the Football football conflict isn't exclusive to Fodors.

"What's a Yank doing posting on this site ?

Sod off and play your own world championships in American Football and Baseball etc. that 99% of the rest of the world neither play nor care about.

Leave the verbal arm wrestling and whinging on proper sports to us Poms and Convicts"

Exactly. No longer part of South African society, you see.

Very droll !

I am far more of a football fan than the odd shaped balls game, but did follow the World cup in France.

Given England's poor form in the years between the two tournaments, Losing in the final would have been way beyond any realistic hopes.

Given a choice between losing finalists and going out in the group stage to Fiji, I know which I would have preferred.

Wales' trophy room has been raided and everything has been taken.

Police are looking for a group of men with a red carpet.

Are you sure it hasn't all been pawned to pay for Gavin Henson's tan?
