Woo hoo! Get $ back. See if your fare to Europe went down!

I just got $306 back on my flight to Italy! I did a search for my flights on US Airways to see what planes I was flying (hoping no 767--but alas the flight home is...)and saw that my fare had gone down $406 dollars. I had paid $1000 for into Rome, out of Milan. I had to pay $100 change fee, but am getting a $406 voucher--supposedly with no restrictions (except must use it w/in 1 year). Yay!

I guess the catch is that you have to be reasonably sure that you will take a US Airways flight within a year. If you don't, you are out $100.

Good for you,Coll; I just checked on mine to CDG in Oct., and it's still the same expensive trip. What month are you flying?

For our trip in September, I booked my tickets back in March. The other day I checked the fare and the tickets are $240 per person MORE.

I leave 8/30--I made my initial reservations only about 3 1/2 weeks out. I think it helps if you either book early or maybe find last minute deals if they are trying to fill the planes. There were still quite a few seats left when I booked. Since I live in Philadelphia, I (unfortunately) fly US Airways a lot so I am hoping the voucher won't be a problem. Good luck--I heard about a web site that will track fares for you and email if they go down. I'll see if I can find the scrap of paper I wrote it down on and will post.
