winery near lucca
We are staying about 10km from Lucca. Can anyone recommend a particular winery to visit in that area that does tastings and possible tours? I'm sure we will come across many wineries in our travels in Tuscany, but I'd like to find one close to where we are staying if possible.

Are you staying in a hotel near Lucca? If so, ask the hotel for a recommendation. Check also www.wineweb.com.

Sorry I ought to know this. There is a good area to the East (10km) from LUcca centre as the hills start to rise about 12 producers in small DOC but name aludes me

Quick surf suggests Montecarlo. Lucca had a wine tasting 2 weeks ago so an email to the Lucca city web site might interest

Thanks! We're staying pretty close to there. I'll look into it more and I'll ask when we pick up the keys to our place.
