Windsor: Need romantic, atmospheric or cozy place to overnight & eat! :-)

Final night on our too brief trip to the U.K. (5 days in total)
will be here. Flying out of Heathrow & need to get to airport
by 8:30am. Heard this location not bad for LHR?

Looking for a nice place to end the trip, but not, top, top dollar
necessarily. (or GBP) ;-) Any romantic or cozy spot that has some atmosphere...maybe even a view of the castle,
or *something* that lets us know where we are...would be
esp. treasured!
(vs. airport hotels which I can't stomach as they are just
so sterile & yet, not inexpensive either)

We won't have time to explore the castle this time around,
as driving from Wales earlier that day, so I don't foresee
us arriving until after it's closed, although if in time,
I'd like to attend Evensong!

This will be a Saturday night in early May...so, am thinking we best book,
rather than just find a place, once there. Price-range?
Open to paying up to 140 GBP, if necessary,
but perhaps we can find something a tad less. Would be helpful! (Then again,
if we'd like a view...I'm thinking probably not likely?) Lastly....
dinner suggestions welcome, too. We're both vegetarians,
open to ethnic or *any* kind of cuisine! Or a fun bar/dinner pub too
would be fine. Thanks so much!

My mother was born in Windsor and my aunt and uncle live in Old Windsor.

I haven't visited in years, but one of my favourite restaurants was the Union Inn. They had really good vegetables which were all home-grown.

I also used to like the Bells of Ousely, but I don't know if it still around.

Check out the French Horn in Sonning--it will be more like 40 minutes from Heathrow but it's west on the M4 so on your way from Wales (if you're coming from south Wales).

Try Great Fosters, in Egham. It was once a hunting lodge for Henry VIII and has a number of original rooms, in addition to a modern block.

Another good one is Tylney Hall.
