Will the buses also be on strike?

We are trying to think ahead in case our train from Aix to Nice doesn't run because of the strike. Will the buses be an option or are they also involved with the strike?

Buses are usually private companies, and the drivers wouldn't belong to the unions that SNCF staff do, as far as I know.

Buses are variable but generally less affected.

Don't forget France has the lowest union membership in the industrialized world, so small companies are unlikely to have any union members at all.

Thank you Christina and Kerouac. Good suggetion about sending an e-mail. Although I dont' speak French, I think I was able to figure out the web site and send one. Is it mandatory that all employees of SNCF belong to the union? I am developing an interest in the paticulars.
