Will I get zapped?

Do I need to bring a electrical converter for my stay at a Timhotel in Paris?

Where do you live now, and what appliances are you planning to use?

My experience is with a Motorola tri-band phone and a Sony Cybershot camera. Both were dual voltage as to charging. All I needed was the appropriate adaptor plug for Europe & Southeast Asia.

"just"... "a blow drier"...

Oh, you mean an applliance that consumes more power and produces more heat than a lot of home furnaces (on a 24-hour averaged basis).

The transformer required to step-down the voltage, in quantities sufficient to power a "blow dr[y]er" weighs about 20 pounds.

You'll want to purchase a dual-voltage hair dryer (available at Target, Walmart, etc), capable of running at BOTH 110-120 volts and at 220-240 volts. And then you will simply need a plug adapter (to make the prongs fit in the wall reeptacle).

Or alternatively buy a hair dryer when you get to Paris.

Your phone/camera chargers should state (if/that) they are dual voltage compatible. If they are, you will just the need pulg adapter(s).

Others here will be able to tell you if Timhotel has the kind of 110 volts, low power wall outlet in the bathroom suitable for an electric shaver. It would work for those chargers, if they are NOT dual-voltage compatible.

Best wishes,

Rex
