Why the Old Europe just doesn't get it?
The old Europe is kind of going through a renaissance for the last few years, but it won't last. They pulled their resources together and it seems to them that they are back on top. They actually think they are the old powerful world powers. Most of their power came from abusing the third world and their riches build from sweat and misery of their colonial slaves. If it wasn't for US of A most Europeans would still be eating bratwurst and marching to "seig heil". If it wasn't for US of A the Frenchies would be kissing their neighbors behinds. And if it wasn't for US of A the Poles would be speaking very good Russian today.
Why or why are they so ungrateful?

What does my screen name have to do with anything?
I'm a history buff and I love the CCCP period of European history. Is it ok with you if I chose that as my screen name?
Now let's get back to the original question.

Doesn't this apply equally well to the US? Are you suggesting that those you feel should be "grateful" to the US should simply go along with everything our administration wants in all perpetuity? (When even many Americans question it?) I think not.

Lesli,
I never said that.
Why is it ok to question US policies and not the European's?
There is another thread that I know you are aware of. The same person (xyz123) constantly bashes US, so I thought we should have an equal forum. I never said that our policies are the best and the only ones, but it seems to me that many Europeans think that theirs are.

Those same "Frenchies", arguably, played a very significant role in helping the U S of A become an independent country in the first place.

Probably true. But do you think their intentions mattered to the colonists?
I mean, if you save me from certain death from being hit by a speeding train, I don't think I'd care if you were only doing it to get a spot on Fear Factor.
