"Then why is TGIFriday so popular?"

The reaction to the poison takes too long. And they have time to reproduce.

Annhig, there is a bitter flavour to brussels sprouts that some can taste but others can't, apparently. I belong to the sprout-haters, despite living in Brussels!

My 2 year old loves broccoli, hates carrots. But right now, she'll try almost anything. Except, seemingly, red foods. Puts up a fit if it's something red. Cherries, red apples, capsicum. Go figure. Just saying it can't all be laid off on environment and habits.

But she'll eat my curry with me, various other things. She's only gone with one trip with us (to Peru), but she did ok with the food. Usually fine, sometime not. We both adapt, so far.

By the way, I sure hope kids' eating habits aren't being dictated by what's on menus at restaurants! I can't imagine having her out to eat so often that what's on kids menus would be the primary influence on her eating habits.

Blame the parents!!!

My husband will eat anything. I will eat anything well-prepared. Both our parents were clean the plate parents. We tried not to be.

We are saddled with 2 picky eaters.

Our kids have no weight worries and my husband and I could both lose a few pounds.

What's better???

It depends on what the kids are exposed to..my grandkids under 10 will eat calamari, beef and tuna carpacio; sushi;miso soup;butter chicken etc.because their parents take them to restaurants that serve these meals and they are encouraged to try everything..makes for pleasant dining out

I think this thread has amply pointed out that no matter what foods and eating experiences you expose your kids to, they may become or stay picky eaters.

neither will I!!!!

One of my favorite stories....
My step-father is a wonderful man, and he always said that he would eat just about anything. However, he drew the line at collard greens. My mother served them one night and he absolutely refused to even put them on his plate. His comment was simple and to the point - "If my mother didn't make me eat collard greens during the depression, I sure as hell am not eating them now!"
