Which Type of Car for Transport from Airport to Hotel
We will be arriving at LHR airport the end of this month and I am interested in transfer arrangements for an airport transfer service I saw advertised on the internet.
I wondered if anyone could tell me if a "saloon" car would be large enough for 3 adults with one large piece of luggage each and 3 carry ons (price quote is 31 pounds). The next size is an "estate" car and quote is 40 pounds. If we can save some money w/ the smaller vehicle would prefer booking this one.
Thanks so much.

But bear in mind you can have a very small 'saloon' or very large one. Saloon does not refer to size but to 4 doors and s trunk.
This is a good site to look up cars if you are not familiar with the models: http://www.parkers.co.uk They almost always have pictures of the load space as well.

The car service will tell you which vehicle you need (almost certainly an estate). A description of various models really won't solve anything since every driver working for the car service may have a different model.

How big are the "large" pieces of luggage. If they ar 24" and you get a large sedan it might fit - or you might end up holding your carry-ons on yuor laprs.
If they are 28" - then you'll have trouble getting it all in a station wagon.

We have 2 "large" over 24" so guess the driver will have to figure it out. I booked the estate and it said 4 passengers and 4 pieces of luggage. No problem holding the carryons on our laps. Thanks everyone.
