Which Rome tour guide

Years ago went on a lifestyle tour of Rome with a guide named Dennis Cigler. Tried to book him for next month and was refered to another company.

Looking at the Slowtraveler tour guide list for Rome, I am most attracted to these. Has anyone had experience with them.

You might try Francesca Caruso. She gets good reviews on Fodor's and also is a guide for some of Rick Steves tour groups in Rome.

If you do a search on her name on Fodor's, you will find her e-mail.

jnj- This is Francesca's email however I had emailed her for our trip in April and she told me she isn't booking anything right now because of agreements with some tour companies and to contact her in January. Can't help you with any of the companies you have lisited.

Many on this forum recommend http://www.contexttravel.com/rome/and http://www.romewalks.it/ has group or private tours.

Hi,
I don't know any of the above mentioned companies but last winter my overseas friends were looking for a lifestyle tour of Rome and hired Stefania Troiani at www.romshoppinguide.com They were very happy with her friendly attitude and up-scale tour of Rome.
Ciao

Context Rome is the best! We had guides in Rome, Pompeii and Florence. All are PHd level or working on Phd. All spoke fluent English. All made our trip. Small groups. The one for Palentine Hill, Forum and Colliseum only had another couple. The one to the Vatican had a total of 6. We were the only ones in Pompeii and Florence.
