Which Paris brasserie in 6e?

Our first nite we would like to try a brasserie close to our hotel. We want quality cuisine, price is not an issue but don't want a "coat/tie obligatory". Can anyone recommend the following
ON R. GREGOIRES DE TOURS:
Cote Sud (6. r. g-d-t)
Au Beaujolais (9 r. g-d-t)
La Citrouille (10 r. g-d-t)

ON R. SAINT ANDRE DES ARTS:
Chez Allard (41 r. s-a-d-a)
La Cabane d'Auverge
La Jacobine (59 r. s-a-d-a)
Le Latin St. Andre

Thanks in advance for any specifics like specialties, menu or a la carte only etc.

We have eaten at Allard and loved it! The waiters are very good, friendly and make sure that you are happy. The food is excellent. It was our anniversary, the waiter got us a clean menu *they print them out each day with the specials* and gave it to us, because the date was on it
I would definitely go back, the sauteed cepes are great! and the roast chicken for one would feed at least 3.

Incidentally, none of the places you list is really a brasserie, but rather small bistrot-type restaurants.
I can't comment re. food, because I find that neighourhood extremely touristy and prefer more hidden places like 'Chez Diane' , 25, Rue Servandoni. I've also had nice meals at the 'Bistrot d'Alex', 2, Rue Clement.

The only one I've been to as well is 'Allard' and I loved it. However, it's definitely the most expensive one on your list, You might also need a reservation, as the place has been popular for ages.

Real brasseries in that neighbourhood would be 'La Chope d'Alsace', 4, Carrefour de l'Odeon, and 'Brasserie Lipp', 151, Blvd. Saint-Germain. For the latter, reservation is a must. The ground floor is the place to be, rather than the first floor. But hard to get, unless you're a regular or a VIP.

As far as I remember, there used to be a typical Alsatian brasserie (Alsace à Paris) at Place Saint-Andre-des-Arts, but I think it's gone now.

I tend to agree with Ursula on this one....especially the recomendation for Chez Diane, which I really enjoyed....
OTOH: There are quite a few bistro's in the 6e which should meet your needs.
I'd say simply walk the area until you find one that looks "good", and go for it.....
Best wishes.....

Highly recommend Les Temps Perdus, on Rue de Seine. It's near the Theatre Odeon. We happenned upon it while wandering the area (it's on a street with very little else) and it was the best meal of our trip. Very pleasant bistro ambiance and exceptional food.

Klondike,

Although I'm not familiar with the places you inquired about, I have a recommendation close by in the 5the. It's called Brasserie Balzar and it's a small neighborhood brasserie featuring probably the best sole meuniere I’ve ever tasted. Great (casual) ambience, good solid service and an intimate locals atmosphere. Place was packed every time we walked by. We ate here twice during our last trip and would go back in a heartbeat.

I realize you were inquiring about the 6the, however, depending on where your hotel is, this is probably a short walk.

Have a great trip,

Strive

Thanks everyone for the personal recommendations; I have a lot more faith in "real" people's opinions that most trendy write-up. Merci bien.

Not sure in which category this restaurant qualifies but I had a lovely dinner here. I didn't notice that it was dressy. The food was excellent.
Les Fontaines (rue Poillet & rue Soufflot).
I notice that this restaurant is recommended but my experience was not great. Chez Diane (Frommer’s recommendation) just behind the Luxemborg gardens. This is my note: Not great – dinner was 350ff plus wine for two. Waitress kept bumping the tables and tossing bread into the baskets across the diners (tables for six so you sit with other diners). Not a great atmosphere and the dinner was not memorable.
