Which London location - Ebury Street or St. Vincent Square?

Have done some research, have looked at the map and I'm still undecided. Having stayed in the South Kensington area on past trips, I'm not as familiar with the area. Can anyone help me decide? Thanks!

Do you mean St Vincent STREET? I'm aware of St Vincent ST in central London north of Oxford street in Marylebone, and St Vincent Close and Road in the outskirts. St Vincent Street is close to the Wigmore Hall and the Wallace Collection. But double check the name of the street . . . .

Ebury St is between Sloane Square and Victoria Station so It is a very convenient location.

Janis, she probably means Vincent Square, SW1, where the Grange Rochester is located. It is also near Victoria station. I haven't stayed in the Victoria station area in over 20 years, so can't help.

Janis,
Ron is quite right. What I really meant is Vincent Square. We are considering flats in both areas.

Ebury St. is a bit more convenient to Victoria, but since I don't think I've ever been to Vincent Square (flat is on street just off the Square), I'm having a harder time with the decision.

Thanks and sorry for the confusion!

Vincent Sq is not that far from Victoria..maybe a 10 minute walk..It should be quiet but as I recall there are not many restaurants or cafes in the immeadiate area, you'd have to head toward Victoria. The Royal Horticultural Hall that sits on one side of the square is often the venue for really good antiques fairs on Sundays.

Jody, You have confirmed my suspicion that Vincent Square, although quieter, might be somewhat less convenient than Ebury St.

I like the more hidden corners of cities, but sure appreciate being closer to the tube coming back from the theatre on a rainy evening. Decisions, decisions... Thanks for the input.

Ebury Street, while close to Victoria, is a fairly quiet street, so I wouldn't worry that you're staying on a major thoroughfare. You're maybe 5 minutes walk to Victoria, and 10 to Sloane Square.
