You might want to repost this with a subject heading of "Need help with anniversary restaurant in Venice" so the people who are knowledgeable about Venice will open the question.

Just a suggestion. I've not been to Venice so can't help you. This answer will put your question back to the top of the forum though.

Good luck and Happy Anniversary!

I can't comment on the choices you have listed, but I highly recommend The Terrace Restaurant at Hotel Cipriani for a special anniversary dinner. Check out their website at:
http://www.hotelcipriani.com/web/oci...a1a_splash.jsp

A limoncello in their piano bar afterward is a perfect ending to a perfect evening.

Congratulations!

Hi J

Alla Madonna is a nice, not exceptional, restaurant. I would not recommend it for ananniversary dinner.

Da Fiore is one of the best, and most expenisive, restaurants in Paris.

We liked Cantinone Storico very much. If the weather is nice you can dine canal-side. There is a nearby church whose bells chime on the hour (I think). Ask your hotel to make a reservation.

Have a great trip.

Cantinone Storico 041.523.95.77 Go to the Accademia Bridge. Walk away from the canal toward the Accademia. Bear left. Make first left. Go over the bridge to San Vio. Restaurant is on the right, on the canal

I've only been to 3 on your list, Alla Madonna, Corte Sconta , and da Raffelle. For an aniversary dinner ,out of those 3 I'd pick de raffaelle, for food and atmosphere. Corte sconta is very casual ..and has the best food of the 3 but it is not at all romantic.

I'd check out Statia's suggestion..it's on my list for our next trip.

PS

White wines that are not dry:

Thunderbird, Boone's Farm, Chateau Elan (from my home state of Georgia), Mogen David, Manischewitz

For fish and shellfish I suggest
Pinot Grigio, Frascati, Orvieto Classico, Soave, EstEstEst, a white Lachryma di Christi, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo. The last three are, I think, the least dry.

Any German or Austrian white will be somewhat more fruity (sweet).

Remember the Vin Santo with a bischotto for dessert.
