Which Inter-sol apartment in Nerja?
I am looking to rent from Inter-Sol for a week in late May 2007. Anyone have any reviews on their apartments? I'm considering the Garden Apartment or Carabeo 60 3C or 2A. We're a married couple in our early fifties and we may have one teenager with us. We like to be close to the beach but a view is nice too. Any suggestions?

Judy (who frequents, or used to, this forum) has rented from them and I think was very pleased with what she rented. If the aprts are on the water side of the street, you should have a great view. Nerja has a lot going on, many restaurants, shops, etc., and I think the teen would enjoy it, too. If you want a specific review of the apts you're interested in and Judy doesn't see this post, repost with a heading "looking for Judy who goes to Nerja" -- if she doesn't see it, I'll try to contact her for you.

Hi Lily, ( Hi Gail!)
Yes, we have rented from Inter-sol many times, staying mostly at Carabeo 70 (the best) and 72.
The Garden Apartment is very pretty but please note that it is not close to the beach...maybe ten minutes downhill ( and uphill going home!
)
I believe the Carabeo 60 apartments are in what is called the "banana" apartments. It is not a pretty building but I'm sure the apartments will be nice, hanging over the water.
We love Calle Carabeo and an apartment that looks out over the Med. I heard that the street is scheduled for a much over due tearing up and repaving. If you can find that this is indeed a fact I would suggest that you stay away from Carabeo altogether.
Inter-Sol is a great company and they have a lot of apartments. I would suggest that you email Jil and tell her just what you are looking for. She will work hard to find what you want.
Have fun in Nerja! We will be there in a few weeks and also the last two weeks of May 2007.

Carabeo is the street closest to the beach on the east side but it is on a cliff and to get to the beach requires steps down. Great views, though!
If the beach is important, there is a nice beach on the west side, Playa de la Torrecilla. Check out Inter-Sol's Acapulco Playa, Las Palmeras, Fuentes de Nerja and Torresol. Ask Jil which is the best one.
BTW, east side and west side refer to to which side of the Balcon de Europa, the town center.
Good luck in your search!

We always stay on the east side because we think it is prettier. It is where the old town is.
The west side is growing and has a lot of nice restaurants. Au Petite Paris is our favorite in Nerja. The restaurant next to it is good as well. We often eat on the west side and go to the internet places there. Vitaliano has good pizzas and fresas con nata.
Even though we are most comfortable on the east side I wouldn't discount the west side.

This is a pretty good web site for Nerja photos. The little video will show what I mean about the beaches on the east side being below the cliff.
This site touts mostly the east side and Burriana beach. It is a nice beach but from there it is a bit more tricky (up a steep hill) to get to the Balcon. The walk from the west side is flat.

Hi again, Lily.
How is you apartment search coming along? I hope you will check in and tell me where you are staying.
I just read that you are from Ottawa. Did you know that Jil of Inter-sol is from that area? She has recently moved from Ottawa to a bit farther north I think.

I didn't know Jill was from this area! What a small world. I'm still mulling over the Garden Apartment or one of the Tuhillos, both suggested by Jill and both with dates we want. Another coincidence is that my name is acutally Judy too but with a y. I use Lily as Judy was taken when I registered.

Coincidences.....
Will you have a car? If so, I think the Garden Apartment would be nice. It is prettier, more Spanish and more serene than Tuhillo. It is just a bit removed from the town center.
The Tuhillo apartments are long and narrow and somewhat lacking in personality but they do have terraces overlooking the Med.
As I said, we will be in Nerja the last two weeks in May. Perhaps we can meet. My email is pj2592 at mac dot com.
We are leaving tomorrow for Lisbon and Nerja and won't be home until the end of the month.
