Which hotel/area in Prague?
I am planning a trip to Prague with my sister (both in our early 40s) in the first half of March. I know it will be cold, but we're tough. I'm trying to decide between the Bellagio Hotel in the Jewish quarter and Kampa Garden Hotel in Mala Strana. Any thoughts or advice? I've found good online deals for both. Kampa Garden is a bit cheaper, but I'm willing to pay more for prime location or significantly better value/comfort. We plan to be there for 6 days and see the sights, attend the opera one night, perhaps a day trip to Terezin. Which of these locations do would be best for tourism by foot in the chilly weather? Thanks for your advice.

I heard good things about Bellagio and passed by the hotel last times I was there but in terms of location I prefer, Kampa Park and Mala Strana area. I was in Prague, in November, January, April and September in last months. And even in January, it was ok, was not that cold (well maybe that's personal but locals did say it was much warmer than usual winter). The sunny weather helped too, I think. So if you say you are tough, you will be alright.

I have several posts on the Kampa Garden Hotel where we stayed twice for a total of seven nights. As far as location, IMO it is perfect. Kampa Island is directly below the Charles Bridge with easy access to the bridge itself and a quick and easy walk to the sights of old town. It was great to pop onto the bridge whenever we wanted. The hotel is just off the Kampa Island square next to a park. It is quiet yet near all of the action. Some the hotel's rooms have great views. The rooms are clean and modern - think Ikea. The breakfast buffet was varied with hot and cold items - not the best hotel breakfast I have had but decent. The island itself has great views of Prague. The hotel is all non-smoking if that is important to you.
