Which 'Big Name' would be your choice as seat companion?
I just read that Fodor's had this survey done in which they ask which 'big names' are the most appealing travel companions. In their survey, Oprah Winfrey came on top.

So, for the heck of it, which 'big name' would you choose to sit next to you on a transatlantic flight? Why?

Well, I have to break it down into Europe-bound and U.S.A. bound, and I'd have to assume that the "Big Name" would not treat me like dirt.

For the Europe-bound portion, I would want to get some sleep, so I'd want someone who would be interesting for about an hour and who would then shut up. That might be someone like Jay Leno. A few yuks, then lights out.

On the U.S.A. bound portion, I would want someone who could really hold a conversation on wonkish political issues and political history and intrigue. You'll hate to hear this, but I would pick Bill Clinton because I have A LOT of questions I'd like answered (like "What the heck is Al Gore's problem?").

First of all, being from Texas, it would NOT be George "Dubya"--know too much about him & how he got where he is. That being said, I think Vincente Fox, new President of Mexico. I have heard him speak and he has incredible ideas and I hope he can make it work.

Elvira

That's the first unsound thing I've seen you write in here!! A wifebeater?

For me it'd have to be writers...We have a foreign correspondent calle Feargal Keane (Irish again) who writes with God's gift; for inspiration, maybe Hillary? maybe Mary Robinson, the last President of Ireland?

If for some reason he was unavailable, Ethan Embry or Johnathan Schaech would be just dandy!
