Are you still looking for info on Costa del Sol? Went there this past Feb. with friends. stayed in a beautiful 2 bds. suite at Marriott's Marbella Beach Resort. Took a side day tour to Morrocco which was good if you like some adventure and someplace different. Let me know if you want more info.

Dee-
I am interested in what you thought of Tangier, as I assume that's where you went in Morocco for a day trip. A lot of the postings said it was dirty, gross, and not worth the time/money. I really wanted to go for the experience.
All advice would be appreciated. My husband and I are planning our days for our Oct. 7-15th trip.
Thanks-
Jordan

jaf,
Yes it was Tangier's, and yes it was all those things, but we had a great experience! Real old world, but not the safest place in the world. Would not attempt it alone. There are day tours that you can take. Wouldn't do it without the tour! But I have to tell you it is an adventure! I think well worth the money and the experience.Just to say you have been there! If you want more info let me know and I will look back at my travel info from that trip. Spain and the Marriott were beautiful!!!
Did a lot of day trips also!
Looking to go to Southern Germany in Sept-Oct 2007. Already have a timeshare in Germany for a week , but are looking to go to either northern Italy or Switzerland for the second week any suggestions?
Let me know if you want the tour info etc. for Tangiers.
Enjoy!

I find it interesting that everyone automatically rules out Torremolinos. Truth is I don't find it to be any more built up than any other area on the Costa del Sol. In fact there are still some rather quiet sections that make nice spots for a vacation. We spend two months a year in the Bajondillo area and love it. The seafood restaurants are great. Also there a number of local restaurants that honestly serve very nice meals. It is near the Malaga airport and makes a convenient jumping off place to visit the many nearby areas of interest.
To me, Fuengirola is more of a concrete jungle. But then the Costa del Sol is a resort area not an architectural masterpiece.
