Where to stay in Rome?

Wondering what area you all would recommend to stay in Rome? We will be there 4 nights, Sept 29 - Oct 4. Any accommodation recommendations would be welcomed as well. We really love B&Bs with some character; beams, frescos, brick...

A good first step is to use the search button above and review the plethora of threads about this. Once you have narrowed down you choices come back for feedback.

To get reasonable responses you should also give us a specific budget in euros (ie we can spend €150 a night max).

Another good resource to start with is trip advisor then I always cross reference here to see if any fodors have stayed there.

Hope this helps!

Sorry meant to add - we like trastevere and the area around piazza navona/campo di fiori/pantheon as you can walk to most places and the great atmosphere

We stayed at the "Best Pantheon" B&B. It is modern, though, no frescoes!. The breakfast was fantastic, and there was internet access. Near Piazza Navona.
