Where to stay in Edinburgh Scotland

We are doing a quick stop in Edinburgh Scotland on the way back to the US and wondered if anyone had a good recommendation as to where to stay for two nights. We are an extended family with 7 in total.

Thanks,

We need to know your budget. And what time of year (especially important if the visit is in August)

We are planning on being in Scotland for two nights July 12 and 13. We fly in around 8 pm on 7/12 and leave early morning 7/14 so my thought is to stay somewhere comfortable but not too expensive as our time at the hotel will be quite limited

"Not too expnsive" is not a cost. That might mean $100 per double room - or trying to stuff all 7 people into some sort of suite for $250 - or ???

If you can't give us some sort of budget, it is next to impossible to give useful recommendations.

Try the King's Manor hotel. It is on the outskirts of the city with a bus stop outside the door. It is reasonably priced

You could get 2 rooms for 2 nights in the city and use the Airlink bus for transport to the airport. Some cheaper hotels to try: Jurys Inn on Jeffrey St, Holiday Inn Express on Cowgate, Holiday Inn Express on Picardy Pl, Premier Inn Haymarket, Premier Inn Lauriston Place.

I don't know if they are comfortable or how many people each unit can accommodate (maybe only 2), but the University housing Kenneth Mackensie and Richmond Place Apartments are close to city center and offered some of the lowest rates during a time we are visiting.

I stayed at the B&B Ardgowan House. Single was £45 per night but there were at least six beds in the room. It is at 1 Lady Road and you'll need to take a bus or taxi into the city. The owner Graham is a great guy. Great breakfast included.
