Where to stay for CHEAP in Paris?

A friend and I will be traveling to Paris in December and we're looking for a CHEAP but clean and safe place to stay close to the city center. Have any suggestions for hostels or hotels??

Are you willing to have a shared bathroom? Do you want hostel dorm beds, or are you looking for a private room with twin beds?

We would prefer a private from with twin beds. And we're pretty used to sharing bathrooms so it would be alright.

We would like something under $70 USD a night....obviously cheaper than that is better.

$70 a night per person or for the room? If the former, you should have no problems finding a decent hotel.

Hotel de Chevreuse in the 6th with private bath is about $75USD but you may be able to negotiate even lower for December. One block to Metro Vavin and lots of good restaurants nearby, including the food bargain Le Cameleon for the food obsessed. About a dozen rooms on the (European) 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors. No email, no website.

Hi G,

This hotel has twin rooms for about 50E: www.france-hotel-guide.com/h75012lux.htm

It is not centrally located, but is near bus and metro stops.

Also google <paris convent rooms>
