Where To Meet at Rome Airport - FCO?

I am meeting my mother and sister in Rome. They are flying Continental and their tickets don't state what terminal they are coming into. I am arriving at terminal B on Air France about an hour after them.

I am arranging to have a driver pick us up on arrival, but am not sure if my mom and sister will be able to get from the Continental terminal to terminal B to meet my flight. Unfortunately, I've never been to FCO.

Can anyone advise me on whether or not they will be able to do this and if I should tell the driver to pick us up at terminal B? With today's security issues, I know it's not always easy to go from terminal to terminal and at times it can be a fairly long distance. My mother will have wheelchair assistance, so that will also play into this scenario.

Statia--here is a website with mps of FCO terminals, it looks as though internationsl flights primarily come in C but some can come through B. They appear to be connected.

Thanks so much for the info, SAB. I checked it out and it looks like it might be easier for them to just wait for me in terminal C, if that's where they will arrive. It seems easier for me to get there, than for them to get to B. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Can anyone suggest a good "meeting point" in terminal C?

Hi S,

In any airport, the easiest place to meet is at the exit from Customs.

I suggest that you have your mother and sister meet you at Terminal B. They could be routed into B or C.

Given that they have an hour, they should be able to find you.

Statia if you check that website I believe that there was something about a special assistance lounge, might that be a possibility. BTW what apartment did you decide upon in Rome?

The limo company will want to know about *your* arrival because it is the one that he will be looking for on the Arrivals Board so he can meet you (you're the latest arrival).
So it's best to have your mother and sister there also waiting at the Arrivals exit after Customs.

But have a 'Plan B'!
They could arrive a very short time before or after you if their flight is delayed.
If your mother and sister don't think that they can make it to your arrival, have them stay put in Terminal C Arrivals' Area.
The driver has to pass Terminal C, you could hop-out and run-in with no problems. The Arrivals area isn't that big so you would have no problem finding them, have them wait in front of the 'candy & bookshop' just to the left of the Arrivals exit after Customs.
Regards, Walter

Thanks, ParadiseLost. That seems to be exactly the info I'm looking for. We'll make that our plan.
