Where to go in March?

Hi, I am trying to plan a trip in Europe for 5 days but am having a hard time picking a destination. At first I was deciding between Rome and Lisbon but I have heard that Rome is expensive and Lisbon will be cold. Where can I go in Europe for 5 days that will have nice weather and enough to see and do but not be expensive?

I should add that this is a trip for me and my boyfriend and we have already been to London, Paris, Barcelona, and Brussels. Thanks

I haven't been to Lisbon but I didn't find Rome to be that expensive really. In March you should be able to find cheaper rates on lodging. The sights aren't that expensive to visit, and there is a variety of food options for any budget. Rome also had very pleasant weather in March last year; much warmer than my hometown of St. Louis.

Says who? I don't see why Rome has to be expensive (I've never heard that mentioned, London yes, Switzerland yes -LOL).

If you choose a moderate hotel and eat at casual places, do most of your sight-seeing on your own, find a decent plane ticket price...

Andalucia. Seville /Granada.
Or I second Crete. Hania, not Iraklio.

I don't think Rome is expensive at all! Eating well is quite cheap compared to here in the States, house wine is essentially free, breakfast is included with most hotels, many attractions are free simply by strolling on by (Trevi, Sp Steps, Pantheon, Pza Navona, Emmanuele, ...). You end up walking everywhere just because it's such a great walking city, so cab fare isn't an issue. And the metro is cheap if you get tired of hoofing it. I think you'd be surprised at how reasonable Rome is if you looked into it.

We are going back to Provence for the third year in the end of March. The weather has been very good especially compared to where we are coming from. Not beach weather if that is what you are looking for. Also there are fewer tourists. I can't wait for March!
