Where to base in Cinque Terra

Hi.. we reach La Spezia on the 21st Nov 1pm and leave for Florence from La Spezia on 22nd Nov night 8pm..

Where would be best bet to base for one night in CT out of the 5 small towns. We will roam all 5 by train.. and if possible wouldn’t mind a trek too on the morning of 22nd Nov..

If we are able to trek which one would u suggest will be best( I mean from which town to which)??

How do u suggest we cover this area in approx 30hours that we have.

Hi Deepanjali!

When we went to the Cinque Terre, La Soezia was an ideal base. Well connected by trains and ferres to the Cinque Terre, and a city big enough to have many suitable hotels .
The NH, waterfront, worked very well.

Enjoy your stay.

At that time of the year, the sun sets before 5 PM, so you really wouldn't have time to see much on the 21st, by the time you arrive to your lodging. The next day, you would have to leave your bags somewhere after checking out. Be sure to get a hotel or other lodging that will hold your luggage for you, because the train stations in the Cinque Terre have no left luggage facilities.

Also, the chances of bad weather are rather high in late November. Rain and high winds are both possibilities. I suggest you have an alternative plan for the event of stormy conditions. Pisa would be a possible alternative.

In late November, it should be easy to find last-minute lodgings. I suggest that you not reserve anything just now. Look at the weather forecast just before your arrival, and change your destination if the weather isn't promising. Even the day before, you should be able to find suitable lodging, even in Florence.

The ferry is a nice way to get from town to town, but it may not run regularly in Nov if there's rough weather.

I can recommend La Soezia too, it's a nice base. There's no problem to find a good hotel and everything is ok with transport, in our trip it was important too
